This morning we set off from Alice Springs, venturing into the rugged, untamed beauty of the Red Centre’s vast desert landscapes. We pass through “The Gap” in the stunning MacDonnell Ranges - the ancient, weathered grandeur standing as silent witnesses to eons of time - and learn about some unique Australian desert flora and fauna such as the Perentie, the Thorny Devil and the Red Kangaroo. Stop at a quintessential outback roadhouse and view Atila (Mt. Conner) as we travel through Curtin Springs Station. Arrive at your accommodation in Yulara where we prepare ourselves for the awe-inspiring Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

This afternoon, we visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, explore the galleries or perhaps see local Aboriginal Artists at work. At the base of Uluru we listen to Aboriginal Tjukurpa (creation) stories that breathe life into this giant formation. Feel the ancient spirit of the land come alive as our guide leads us on a fascinating walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole, interpreting the meaning of the ancient Rock Art and sacred sites along the way.

This evening, experience the magic of an Uluru sunset followed by a spectacular Special Uluru Dinner. Find your own tranquil space to witness the breathtaking spectacle as day melds into twilight, and the vibrant hues of Uluru transform beneath the suns’ afternoon rays. Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) is a sacred and awe-inspiring site – where massive, ancient rock formations rise dramatically from the surrounding desert, each one bearing the weight of millennia of history and Indigenous culture. The 36 ochre domes that make up Kata Tjuta are an incredible sight and cover an area of some 20 km – linked by a maze of walking and hiking tracks of varying difficulty. At sunrise and sunset the domes take on a magical appearance as they turn a deep shade of red, transforming the landscape into a fiery, otherworldly wonderland.

This morning we journey to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (Olgas). We pause to bask in the breathtaking panorama that extends before us at a magical dune viewing platform on the southern side of Kata Tjuta and then immerse ourselves in the captivating presence of Walpa Gorge. Meander along the path which winds through the gorge and creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta – a moving experience.

We return to Ayers Rock Resort around lunchtime, where the afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy. Perhaps stretch out by the pool or engage in one of the fascinating free activities on offer at the resort. Alternatively, you may choose to partake in an additional optional experience like a scenic helicopter flight or a sunset camel ride.

Witness the sheer enchantment of an Uluru sunrise and be captivated by the breathtaking Field of Light – an absolutely mesmerising installation fusing art, light and nature with the emotional core of the Australian outback. Awaken before sunrise and venture to a desert viewpoint overlooking Uluru. In the midst of darkness, the globally renowned "Field of Light” unfolds dramatically before you - adorned with 50,000 slender stems crowned by radiant frosted glass orbs, sprawling across an area equivalent to seven football fields, forming an entrancing homage to the desert's splendour and the timelessness of Uluru.

From here we ascend to a private dune-top viewing area, where a panorama of the awakening Red Centre stretches out before us - witness the landscape's breathtaking transformation. The radiant sun rises behind Uluru, casting its warm glow upon the land and the sprawling Kata Tjuta. With each passing minute, the desert reveals its beauty in the gentle morning light and the Field of Light gracefully fades. From this elevated position, we capture Uluru and Kata Tjuta, their ancient forms bathed in the soft, golden embrace of a new day.

We bid farewell to Uluru and embark on a fascinating journey through more breathtaking desert landscapes. Pass Curtin Springs Station, catch a glimpse of the majestic Atila (Mt. Conner) and keep your eyes peeled for signs of wild horses and the noble camel, which may grace our path.

Kings Canyon Resort welcomes us with enough time to unwind and explore. Then, brace yourself for a mesmerising sunset experience as the sun’s golden afternoon hues set the desert landscapes ablaze in a symphony of transforming colour. In the summer months enjoy the chance to purchase drinks at the sunset viewing area and experience the Light Towers by Artist Bruce Munro in the evening.

This morning, the real adventure begins. We rise early and make the rocky ascent to the canyon's rim, greeted by the awe-inspiring sunrise. This stunning vantage point offers an incredible view of Watarrka National Park. As we follow the canyon's rim on this three hour hike, pause at various lookout spots to gaze deep into the rugged gorge or alternatively, you may choose to take a guided stroll into the lush haven on the canyon floor.

Around midday we will board our coach and make our way back to Alice Springs. Soak up the vivid desert panoramas and delight in a stop off at the iconic Erldunda, a roadhouse where you can perhaps purchase a delicious afternoon tea.

Enjoy a morning at your leisure to explore Alice Springs, before setting off on our 4 hour luxury coach tour with great informative commentary from our experienced local guide. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service (headquarters of the globally respected medical service providing a critical link to remote communities throughout the Northern Territory), Historic Telegraph Station (site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs, established in 1872 to relay messages between Darwin and Adelaide), School of the Air (provides education to primary school aged children living on remote properties throughout the Northern Territory since 1951), Anzac Hill (dedicated as a war memorial to honour those that have fallen in Australia’s wars, with magnificent panoramic views over Alice and the surrounding West MacDonnell Ranges) and Alice Springs Reptile Centre (amazing NT animals like saltwater crocodiles, huge goannas, frill-neck lizards and Gecko Cave).

Today explore the iconic West MacDonnell Ranges that form the dramatic ochre red back-drop to Alice Springs, including Simpson’s Gap, Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek Big Hole and Ormiston Gorge. This amazing Central Australian geological feature has many hidden treasures for you to discover.

Travel west on Larapinta Drive, passing the John Flynn Memorial (foot of Mt Gillen), see what remains of the twin ghost gums (famous painting by Albert Namatjira). Stop at Simpsons Gap with its beautiful permanent water hole, admire Standley Chasm (amazing red cleft that glows) whilst enjoying a delicious morning tea and perhaps walk into the spellbinding Chasm (Angkerle Creek bed). Visit the Ochre Pits to admire the vivid colours of the mineral walls – mined for generations by the Arrernte people of the region. Experience Ormiston Gorge and waterhole where we pause to enjoy a delicious ploughman’s picnic lunch, with time to enjoy the refreshing waterhole (perhaps have a well deserved swim). All the time spotting for the amazing wildlife such as eagles, kites and falcons (soaring above the range on warm currents) as well as black footed rock wallabies and desert lizards. We complete our incredible West Macdonnells experience at Ellery Creek Big Hole – one of Central Australia’s most pristine - where we have the chance to enjoy a swim in the summer months.

Travel inland to cruise a section of the Adelaide River and witness saltwater crocodiles close up as they leap out of the water to snatch their food. The Adelaide River starts in Litchfield National Park and is well known for its high concentration of saltwater crocodiles, along with other wildlife including white-bellied sea eagles, whistling kites, freshwater crocodiles, bull sharks and black flying-fox. An excellent opportunity to observe these primeval creatures as you cruise along the Adelaide River.

Today you will cruise the Adelaide River in crocodile infested waters, watch as your guide entices massive wild saltwater crocodiles to jump and snatch their food (witnessing crocodiles up close). Experience the ultimate thrill as these magnificent creatures leap out of the water with sheer power and grace - creating a profound sense of excitement and awe that will stay with you forever.

Enjoy a stop at Howard Springs, for a chance to see barramundi and turtles. Today is an amazing adventure.

This is a truly beautiful and spiritual destination. The iconic Litchfield National Park is famous for stunning cascading tropical waterfalls, warm swimming holes, the Tabletop Range sandstone plateau, monsoon tropical rainforests, intriguing magnetic termite mounds and ancient Aboriginal sites of the Wagait people.
